Daily Escalator Jam

In blog on October 19, 2007 at 8:59 am

We all know that thousands and thousands of people commute to work or school via the MRT daily. We have to endure the waiting times, the insanely crowded train and the pain of having to stand for the whole 1 hour journey. Now(or maybe for the last few months), we have to endure another whole new horror.

The bloody escalators.

We have to actually queue up to use the escalator. Because the damn crowd isn’t moving fast enough. Everyone’s just standing on the escalator both left and right, leaving a huge chunk of crowd behind trying to enter the escalator. And knowing that time is precious to everyone, especially during rush hours in the morning, this is damn inefficient.

Don’t blame the young nor the working class, blame the uncles and aunties that are ignorant of the keep left rule. Usually, after everyone disembarks from the train, the flow on the escalator is working fine, those who are not in a rush would keep left and those in a rush will walk up on the right. Then suddenly, an ignorant auntie or uncle(ALWAYS) stand on the right. That cut off the flow of people moving up the escalator and will cause a huge jam to occur. Then what happen to us? Even when we are in a rush to school or work, we’ll have to wait for our turn to walk up the escalator.

So to everyone out there(including some blacksheeps like teenagers etc.), KEEP LEFT.

  1. I SOOO AGREE WITH YOU!
